misguided but beautiful

An age of misguided but beautiful design seems to have sparked up and burnt away in Britain in the late 50s. Probably rained on by the all-consuming Age of Aquarius the 60s so looked forward to but this is a little gem.

The long abandoned UK Panda Crossings had their own manual to understand them, not only fronted by this:

but in wishing to make the new crossings plain to drivers and pedestrians alike, they thought it wise to feature these:

From now on, I think I shall make it  a small mission to feature more misguided but beautiful design on the mid-20th century on this blog. So it is written…[let’s see if it shall be done.]
