Rehearsals continue for our newly shortened piece – clocking in at 20 minutes, it’s no longer the 1 hour twenty and absolute rumination on time & memory but instead a stab in the lungs of loss.
It spits, weeps, shouts and wheezes.
It’s a very different, very lean piece now.
I like it.
I like it for its Frankensteinian nature – in both text and character.
In some ways it reflects its title a lot more – the hop and shunt of the checkers board of time, continuance, play and struggle.
I hope our audience likes it too.
